Poland day

We celebrated Poland country day on Monday 11th November in our school. At first 7th class students told us about Poland. After this we presented photos and our students Maarit and Laura told about our Comenius-trip to Poland.
The pupils also visited our Poland-classroom and there they explored Poland more by video presentation from our trip and by presentations about Polish national costumes and dances. There was also more information on Poland, leaflets, books and posters in our classroom.

The fourth mobility 7th - 11th October, Poland

We had an unforgettable and very interesting week in Poland. We, three teachers and two students from our school, started our journey to Poland early on Sunday morning. At first by car to Oulu and from Oulu by train to Helsinki. In the evening we fliew from Helsinki to Krakow. In Krakow we accommodated together with our partners in Hostel Faust.

On Monday we were in Krakow and walked in Krakow and saw many interesting places, like Florianska gate, St Mary’s Church, Cloth Hall, The Church of saints Peter and Paul, Wawel castle and Krakow Market Square Underground Museum. 

On Tuesday we woke up at five o'clock, ate breakfast and started our trip to Auschwitz Memorial Site and Museum - two days before our president Sauli Niinistö. It was a really the concrete way to learn and realize more about the suffering of those, who lived their last months in Auschwitz before they lost their lives there. History, which – hopefully – will never be forgotten and never repeated... Before leaving to Lubaczov we also visited in The Wieliczka Salt Mine.

On Wednesday we were guests of our Polish partners in their school. Students and teachers had worhed hard for us. The gym was well decorated and we could enjoy the singing and dancing presentations. We guests from other countries presented the people in our teams and also a few national songs. After that we visited our brother classrooms making new friends. After lunch the teachers visited the mayor of Lubaczow and at the same time the students had music and sport workshops at school. In the evening we guests had the official supper together with teachers from Lubaczow.

Planting the trees in the Memorial forest started our second day in Mlodow. After planting we left from the school to the countryside. We visited a church in Radruż and health spa Uzdrowisko-Horyniec.
After this trip we came back to Lubaczow and went shopping in the city center. In the evening we were in the school, where we teachers had a meeting. Students had a disco at the same time.

On Friday we had plenty of time to stay In Krakow before leaving home. 

Very many thanks to you all our friends, teachers and students, there in Lubaczow.  

The third magazine - Culture

The newest magazine of our project has published by our Estonian partners. Our students in every country have collected lot of things about their culture and of course have written articles in English.

Memorial forest

We have planted part one of our Memorial forest today. Our forest is in the school area and there are now 10 trees, one for each classroom and also one for the teachers. Our foreign partners will plant the other part of our forest next year.

The third mobility

The third mobility of our project was 13th-17th May 2013 in Pärnu, Estonia. Our two teachers and three students spent an unforgettable week with other guests and Estonian partners. Our Estonian partners had organized a well-planned week for us. We were very happy, because our students were hosted by Estonian families. Both students and teachers got a lot of new friends. A special thanks to our partner Agnes.

Turkey day

At the beginning of our Turkey day, our Turkey class (the fifth-graders, aged 11 or 12), gave us a quiz on Turkey and all students learned important details on the country. On top of that they had made a brilliant display showing different sides of Turkey.

 

The second magazine

The second magazine of project has been published by our Spanish partners. Students from every country has done a part of this geography magazine.

Greetings from Gravellona Toce, Italy

We started our schoolday on Thursday in our gym. Our students who visited Italy told to other students and teachers about our journey. We saw many photos from Gravellona Toce about the families, new friends, tours and the school of our Italian partners.

The second mobility

The second mobility of our project was 18th-22nd March 2013 in Gravellona Toce, Italy. We had an unforgettable journey. Our two teachers and three students together went with 50 other quests. Our Italian partners had organized a well-planned week for us. Our students were hosted by Italian families and they liked very much to be with them. This was an amazing opportunity to use their English skills and notice that they can communicate and survive with their skills. Both students and teachers got a lot of new friends.

After our journey to Turkey we held a presentation on it and our students watched photos from Turkey and listened to our travelogue.

The first mobility

The first meeting of our project, Europe in our school, was in Karaman, Turkey 21st-25th January 2013. From Kestilä Comprehensive school there were four teachers. In this meeting we met teachers from every partner country and students from Italy and naturally from Turkey.
We had an unforgettable week with tours and visitings the school and Turkish teachers' homes.

Tourism-magazine

The first magazine of our Europe in our school -project has been published. Students from every parner country have made articles on tourism in their country.
